Irvington ADU [permitting phase]
This 450 SF ADU is just off of Irving Park in the Irvington Historic District. The project was just approved through a Type I Historic Resource Review process and is about to begin permitting. The project also included a successful classification for the existing dilapidated garage in order to authorize demolition. Due to the location in a Historic District and the clients desire for a harmonious relationship to the main house and neighborhood the exterior is designed to appear traditional and the massing was configured to appear similar to the "small garage in the corner" Portland pattern.
The one-bedroom ADU has a generously sized bathroom, kitchen and living space to accommodate a full time resident. The bedroom and bathroom are located at the north end with a vaulted, bright, open plan living/dining area oriented to the south facing a patio space. A covered porch and small storage area faces the driveway.
